INTO 2022 – Talk to a Pro Living Library Sessions

Imagine if you could learn from a career professional the same way you check a book out of a library? Thanks to the Talk to a Pro Living Library, now you can.

This online event allows seasoned employers and employees to act as a ‘living book’ by making themselves available for 30-minute increments where they can connect with students virtually.  The students can then ‘check out' the living book by booking a session online.

Common questions students might ask include: ‘What is it like to be you working in this industry today?’, ‘How did you get to where you are?’ and ‘What kind of training or education did you do to work in this area?’ ‘What are the future trends in this industry that I should be aware of?’

The Living Library experience means that professionals and NIC students who would not normally have a chance to speak one-on-one can connect.

The event is also a chance for career professionals to share their experiences starting out and to provide some insight on what they do at work as well as what is changing in their field.

How to participate

Employers who are interested in participating as a ‘living book’ can fill out a short expression of interest form by visiting the event page. The registration deadline is Feb. 14, 2022.

Students can also view upcoming sessions and browse the catalogue of available living books starting Feb.14, 2022 and learn more by clicking the link above.
