Join us for our Comox Valley campus Parent-Student Info Night

Prospective students and their families are invited to meet NIC faculty and staff at the fifth annual Parent and Student Information Night at the Comox Valley campus on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

“The Parent and Student Information Night is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the programs and courses we offer and plan your transition to college,” said Danielle Hoogland, NIC recruiter. “Prospective students can ask questions of faculty and staff and meet the individuals who will support them through their time at NIC.”The event is geared toward high school students and their families but all community members are welcome to attend.

NIC’s expert instructors will be available to meet and speak with students and parents about their programs and the courses they teach.

“It’s wonderful to connect with students on information night and answer questions they have about the program and career opportunities,” said Laurie Tulloch, NIC Early Childhood Care and Education instructor. “I love seeing their faces again on the first day of class.”

NIC staff and advisors will also be on hand to answer questions and lead several presentations. There will be information on Dual Credit and Youth Train in Trades opportunities for high school students, including the upcoming Early Childhood Care and Education offering starting in February.

Students can also learn about financial aid, student services and supports and important information on the transition to post-secondary.

“It’s important to us that our students are supported both academically and with any other challenges they may be facing,” said Hoogland. “Whether it’s peer tutoring, writing support or counselling and advising services – we have the supports in place to help you be successful at NIC and beyond.”

Registration is now open for courses and programs beginning in January, including for additional seats for in-demand programs such as Health Care Assistant and Early Childhood Care and Education.

Students who apply on information night will have their application fee waived and will be able to enter a draw for a $500 tuition credit at NIC.

The information night takes place at the Trades Training Building at the Comox Valley campus from 6 to 8 pm.
