North Island College’s “007” Wine Festival is approaching fast! The event is being held on Friday April 13th from 7 – 9:30pm. The festival features wine tasting, hors d’ouevres, specialty sampling, wine seminars, live entertainment, door prizes and the silent but deadly auction. This semiformal occasion is being held at Campbell River’s new state of the art conference facility, The Cape Mudge Band Quinsam Center.
This year the annual Wine Festival is distinguished by a “007” theme. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress, as this event is a night of style, sophistication, and “007”. “This festival continues to be an annual success, which educates, entertains and gives guests a chance to mingle with Campbell River’s finest,” says past guest, Carol Carwithen.
North Island College’s Tourism and Hospitality program is designed specifically to provide hands on industry training and career preparation for the students. The “007” Wine Festival gives the students a chance to incorporate the knowledge obtained in the class room and apply it by hosting this impressive event. The annual wine festival is always an exciting time for students as it signifies the end of the program as well as the accomplishment of holding such a prestigious affair.
“It is such an honor to be part of hosting the wine festival this year! Its amazing how much we have all learned over the past two years and how it directly relates to running this type of event. I would encourage anyone interested in tourism and hospitality to inquire about NIC’s program,” says second year tourism and hospitality student Erin Village.
