North Island College's instructors have developed a really strong curriculum and are able to produce students with excellent knowledge. I hire NIC's Professional Cook students every year. In fact, I have two of them working in the kitchen right now.

Third Course bistro: Unique Dining and Educational Opportunities

The bistro will be open from Oct. 30 to Nov. 27, 2015. Closed Nov. 20.

Educate and entertain your palate with a visit to the Third Course bistro! Every fall and winter, the Third Course bistro offers quality service in a unique atmosphere, created tourism and hospitality management students.

With fabulous menu choices, an excellent wine selection, and an inviting atmosphere, the Third Course bistro offers incredible value. Tourism and Hospitality Management program students in NIC's Food Fundamentals course design the menu and prepare meals, with the freshest seasonal products. Customers enjoy grilled New York steak, phyllo-wrapped salmon, grilled vegetable and pumpkin seed appetizers and scrumptious desserts while supporting NIC students.

The Fall 2015 menu adobe brings back menu favorites and adds adventure with stuffed portabella mushrooms and the special chef's choice five-course meal. Each week, students will also plan and create a pasta dish as a class assignment. For dessert, try a classic chai crème brûlée, a zesty lemon tart or a decadent double chocolate brownie.

The Third Course bistro is located on North Island College's Campbell River campus. It is open for public dining from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday evenings October 30, November 6, November 13 and November 27, 2015.
