International students attending North Island College are encouraged to consider volunteering a few hours a week. The benefits include

Working

International students are able to work both on and off campus. On campus jobs are available in the fine art and computer labs, in the library, international education and tutoring other students. International students apply for these jobs in response to posting on campus. As an international student you would compete for the work against domestic students. The most appropriate applicant is hired.

Off campus work is guided by Canadian government rules. Please read this information to understand what off campus work is possible. Our International Office is able to assist international students applying for their Off Campus Work Permit.

To work on or off campus you will need to apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN). This document provides you with information about making that application.
