By Air
The Comox Valley is only a 25 minute direct flight from Vancouver BC. The call letters for the Comox Valley Airport are YQQ.
Central Mountain Air (and other airlines) provides air service each day between the Vancouver International Airport and the Comox Valley. You can download maps and instructions to get from the International arrival gate to the Central Mountain Air check in counter.
Airport pick up is easy for international students to arrange with their homestay.
By Bus and Ferry
Some students are adventurous and choose to travel to the island by bus. It takes about 5 hours and is a very beautiful trip.
The route uses the BC Ferry system to travel from the City of Vancouver to Vancouver Island. Island Link will pick you up at the International Airport. It will take you to the BC Ferry terminal in Horseshoe Bay. You travel to Vancouver Island on the ferry. Then you take an Island Link bus to the Comox Valley.
You arrange with your homestay family to pick you up at one of the Island Link stops.
Several routes are possible, depending on what you would like to see along the way.
