North Island College Campus Stores provide a wide range of services to the NIC community, with locations at the Campbell River, Comox Valley and Port Alberni campuses. The NIC Stores support our students by providing books and other learning resources, NIC swag, school and art supplies and so much more.
We have merchandise arriving throughout the year, so check in, say hi to the campus store staff and see what’s new.
Notice to students
Please note that Campus Stores are currently closed. The bookstores at all three NIC campuses will be opening between 10:00 – 2:00 Monday to Friday starting Aug 24, 2020. This is of course dependent on the most current Public Health Officer recommendations. Any changes to this will be posted on the student portal and website when available.
Textbook information for Fall is being regularly added – please continue to check the NIC Book Search for updates. Text information is still being updated by faculty so we recommend waiting until closer to the start date of your program to purchase required materials.
For sponsored students, you may email your details to email@example.com and if we are able to accommodate you at the time of emailing, we will do so (stock dependent).
You may also check the NIC Student page at Login Brothers lb.ca/nic – they carry many but not all of our required texts, and can ship the order directly to you.
For digital resources, please contact faculty – you may need to purchase it through a specific link or site, in order to link correctly with your class.
To ensure you get the correct resources it is important that you know your course code and section number. Instructors at North Island College determine which textbooks will be used each semester, and these required resources can vary by instructor/section number.
The easiest way to have this information available is to keep a copy of your registration form handy. The bookstore staff are not able to look up registration information.
In most cases texts are available a few weeks before the beginning of each term. We encourage students to come in early to avoid lengthy line ups in the stores. If you do not see the resource you are looking for, please ask a store clerk for more information.
Go to Book Search to get info and pricing on books.
Distance learners registered in flex/lockstep/web classes need to order books using the distance student book order information.

Returned items must be in unread and unmarked condition to qualify for a refund. This includes scratched covers, bent corners and bent spines. Texts damage easily, please take care.

Students that withdraw from a course will be granted permission to return texts outside of the return deadline with a Registration Statement indicating they have been withdrawn.
NO RETURNS are permitted on any shrink-wrapped items if shrink-wrapping has been removed.
Purchases made on credit/debit card will require the original card for a refund. Cash may be refunded to a debit card or by cheque if cash is not available.
