Orientation Day

Start the school year off with a celebration. Orientation Day is our day to welcome you to the NIC community. Held at each campus, Orientation Day is your introduction to the people, places and resources on campus that will make your college experience a success. New students will have the chance to find your classes, meet your instructors and visit the library and bookstore. Returning students can reconnect with classmates and instructors, buy course materials and find out what’s new at NIC.

2020 Orientation Days

Campbell River campus: Tuesday, September 8
Comox Valley campus: Tuesday, September 8
Port Alberni campus: Tuesday, September 8, student barbeque Thursday, September 10

What to Expect

Spend the day exploring the campus as we kick off a new school year at NIC:

  • Meet your classmates and faculty in program introduction sessions
  • Gain tips on having a successful year with workshops on topics like stress management, study skills and Library orientations
  • Take part in campus tours
  • Take part in activities and games with the chance to win prizes
I really enjoyed everything about Orientation Day. The entire morning was a fun and super positive experience. The delicious lunch that was provided and outdoor Marketplace was a great way to finish the day. I felt so much better after attending, having gained a better understanding about my new campus.
