Retired NIC English instructor Derek Hanebury received Emeritus designation at NIC last year. Hanebury taught students in Port Alberni, Campbell River and the Comox Valley for 29 years.
NIC Emeritus faculty Derek Hanebury was recently shortlisted for a provincial award by the Federation of British Columbia Writers.
Hanebury was one of four writers shortlisted for the 2019 Literary Writes contest.
