NIC emeritus Alan Burgess recieves CVAG award for contribution to the arts

Alan Burgess, NIC emeritus and retired Fine Art &  Design instructor, was awarded the annual Nonny Milne Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts at the Comox Valley Art Gallery (CVAG), Saturday, April 14.

Burgess is past chair of NIC's Fine Art & Design and is founder of NIC's Professional Potter Advanced Diploma. He was nominated by Comox Valley Poet Laureate and NIC alumni Natalie Nickerson, who in her nomination called Burgess "a legendary leader as an arts-committed creature."

The award is presented each year to an individual, couple or collective that has made a profound, long-term contribution to the arts in our community.
