Students in the following North Island College program are eligible to apply for transfer to Alberta University of the Arts

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements for North Island College’s Fine Arts diploma are available on the program page.

Graduates of NIC’s Fine Arts Diploma with an average of C (2.0) or higher will be considered for admission to Year 3 of the AUArts Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program majors on the basis of academic standing, and will be considered for admission to Year 3 of the AUArts Bachelor of Design degree program on the basis of academic standing and a portfolio review. Both are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the articulation agreement between Alberta University of the Arts and North Island College’s Fine Arts program.

Which AUArts Programs are Eligible?

The NIC-AUArts Articulation Agreement provides NIC students with the opportunity to transfer directly into Year 3 of the following Alberta University of the Arts programs:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts
    Majors include media arts, sculpture, fibre, painting, drawing, ceramics, print media, glass and jewellery + metals.
  • Bachelor of Design
    Majors include photography and visual communication design.

Make sure your courses count. Each degree pathway has its own unique deadlines, portfolio requirements, course prerequisites and transfer requirements.
