Royal Roads Guaranteed Admission

Guarantee your admission to select Royal Roads degree programs, while earning a diploma or associate degree at NIC. After completing an eligible diploma or associate degree with a 3.0 GPA, you will be eligible to transfer to Royal Roads for your third and final years of a bachelor degree in justice studies, international hotel management, global tourism management, interdisciplinary studies or professional communication.

Under the NIC-Royal Roads University Guaranteed Admission agreement, the following NIC programs flow directly into specific Royal Roads University degrees.

  • Associate of Arts Degree - with at least 12 credits in Criminology
  • Criminology Diploma
  • Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies

Admission Requirements

  1. Contact an NIC educational advisor or book an appointment online.
  2. Successfully complete one of the following NIC pathway programs:

3.  Students will indicate to an NIC Educational Advisor their intention to pursue this guaranteed pathway to RRU, preferably at least 6 months, but no later than 3 months, prior to the eligible RRU program start date.  In addition, students will be required to apply directly to RRU in advance of posted deadlines.

International Language Requirements

International students must meet NIC international admission requirements.

Consider NIC’s Academic English Language program if you need to gain the skills to speak and understand English in the college environment.

To Be Successful

To qualify for enrolment at RRU, you must meet RRU's program entry requirements by the time classes start at RRU. You will also need to maintain your grade point average and meet RRU’s other criteria while at NIC, including:

  • maintain a minimum “B” or 3.0 GPA
  • satisfactorily complete appropriate prerequisite courses and NIC's related credentials and coursework
  • meet any required work experience criteria

What is Guaranteed Admission

The NIC-RRU Guaranteed Admission Agreement provides NIC students with guaranteed admission and course transfer into RRU Bachelor programs. Guaranteed admission is a great choice for anyone interested in completing an RRU degree in one of the eligible programs listed below. The agreement bases university admission on your academic performance at NIC rather than your high school transcripts.

How does it work?

Upon entering one of the eligible programs at NIC, you will complete your diploma or associate degree, including any required work experience. You must indicate to an NIC educational advisor your intention to pursue a guaranteed pathway to RRU, preferably at least 6 months, but no later than 3 months, prior to the eligible RRU program start date.

• successful completion of an NIC pathway diploma
• achieving a minimum “B” or 3.00 GPA
• satisfactorily completing the appropriate prerequisites
• meeting any required work experience criteria
