Global Leaders of Tomorrow, a collaborative mentorship program, launched in fall 2014. The successful pilot project was established in partnership between the NIC School of Business and the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce . Student mentees meet with mentors in the business community from October to March, developing a personalized plan with a time commitment of six meetings or six hours minimum over the mentorship period. NIC's online Business Administration certificate gives you the flexibility to take courses or start your degree on your own time, wherever you live. The online format includes video, podcasts and a wide range of mixed media tools. The BBA Alumni Award was created in Fall 2016 to support a third or fourth-year full-time BBA student who demonstrates strong academics, community involvement and financial need. Alumni Receives Top 20 Under 40 Award
Congratulations to Kathryn Jones, CPA, CA on her 2017 Top 20 Under 40 Business & Community Achievement award. This award is given annually to a young professional excelling in their career, passionate about contributing to their community and working hard to raise the profile of their industry or region. Kathryn has worked as a chartered accountant at Presely and Partners since graduating from NIC with a BBA, Accounting in 2011. She is a strong believer in the power of education to transform lives and an active board member with the North Island College Foundation.
Alumni Recipient of Top 20 under 40 Award
Congratulations to Jenny Deters on her 2016 Top 20 Under 40 Business & Community Achievement award. The 2007 Business Administration graduate was chosen from over 150 nominees across the island. She owns Rattan Plus Home & Patio with her husband Todd, serves as vice-president of the Downtown Business Improvement Association and works hard to keeping downtown Courtenay vibrant.
