Health Care Assistant Certificate

Experience the rewards of working in a caring profession, supporting older adults and vulnerable members of society as part of a dynamic health care team. As a graduate, you will be qualified to work as a frontline care provider in a variety of settings, including adult day programs, group homes, community care, residential care facilities or acute care hospitals.

Dual credit options are available, speak to a recruiter for more details. 

The Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test (CLBPT) is available to HCA applicants on a limited basis. For more information, read our CLBPT information sheet. 

If you are an international applicant, you can be part of a special two-year international cohort where you can earn two certificates: a Health Care Assistance Certificate (eight months) and a Community Mental Health Worker Certificate (eight months). Please apply to the Health Care Assistant Certificate at the Comox Valley campus for Fall 2024 term.
