Heavy Duty Apprenticeship Training

Advance your skills and qualifications in the heavy duty mechanics trade. Develop specialized skills for a career as a heavy duty equipment technician (HDET), truck and transport mechanic (TTM), transport trailer technician (TTT) or diesel engine mechanic (DEM).

Through NIC’s apprenticeship programs, students can complete their Interprovincial Red Seal in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprenticeship, earn their certification in the Diesel Engine Mechanic apprenticeship or complete up to level 3 in their Truck and Transport Mechanic apprenticeship.

Forestry is one of the key industries in Campbell River, and there is a need for a lot of heavy duty mechanics in this area. A lot of the guys I went to school with are working locally so it’s important to have the program here.
