Permaculture design can increase the productivity of our gardens, provide beauty, abundance, and the leisure to enjoy it. This introduction to permaculture class will include an opportunity to participate in planting a perennial herb garden. Permaculture takes a systems approach to garden planning, building soil fertility, and generating year-around harvests. The class will explore small plot intensive techniques, such as keyhole beds, companion planting, and succession planting to maximize yields and reduce labour. The techniques discussed are perfect for small urban gardens and can be scaled up for larger production areas. 6 hours in class and hands on. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring gloves.
