Courses updated in September and January each year for Fall and Winter enrolment.
Explore traditional jewellery-making techniques in our fully equipped studio. Over six sessions, you will receive guidance from a jewellery professional who will introduce you to the basic tools and equipment used to create your own jewellery at home. The course begins with an introduction to design. Students then learn how to pierce metal, solder, apply textures, set a cabochon stone and create a bezel. Finally, you will practice fabrication techniques and learn how to finish and polish your work to perfection. You will complete several projects with the help of individualized attention, demonstrations and handouts. The course is labour intensive and has a moderate degree of difficulty. Students will benefit from good eye-hand coordination. All materials are included in the cost of the course. Please see supply list online for additional items you need to bring from home.
