Courses updated in September and January each year for Fall and Winter enrolment.
An archeologist, Dr. Arnold was Director of the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, the central museum and archives of the Northwest Territories. A Research Associate with the Arctic Institute of North America, he also enjoys giving lectures on cruise ships! The focus of his presentation is the archaeological sites bordering the estuary at the mouth of the Mackenzie River. Well-preserved dwellings and other items constitute a 700-year old record of western Arctic Inuvialuit. It's a race against time as shorline erosion, accelerated by recent changes in climate, washes away the vestiges of a way of life that was unique in the Canadian Arctic. Instructor: Dr. Charles Arnold
