Glen Dickson, retired president and CEO of Cumberland Resources, spend 40 years in the mineral exploration industry, primarily in Northern Canada where there is great mineral wealth. A geologist who became an executive, he was immersed in many levels of transition as small acquisitions transformed into large corporations and Nunavut became a Territory. The harsh climate, lack of infrastructure, and Inuit Culture provided a unique business environment for resource development. Mr. Dickson describes how these challenges took him from his desk in Calgary to the operation and development of gold mines in Nunavut through the operations of 6 mining companies and management of million-dollar budgets.
