Marketing in the Digital Economy

This 12-week, four-course micro-credential allows students to explore the fundamentals of business development, including marketing, budgeting, planning, digital design, branding, E-commerce, social media, networking and much more. Each three-week course combines dynamic lectures with flexible cohort discussion and interaction followed by self-direct learning and implementation.

Courses

This introductory course will begin by exploring the program's online learning platform and tools. Students will explore their business ideas, and focus on professional writing, project design, business plans, and branding.

This course will explore the basic elements and principles of digital design and project management, including client management. Students will also master the importance of colour in digital marketing, along with imagery and logo design.

This course will examine the crucial elements of successful business websites, including domain names, sales platforms, e-commerce systems, and point-of-sale systems. Students will also explore search engine optimization strategies, traffic flows, and the role of analytics in business development.

This course will examine the crucial role of social media in business development strategies, including socials such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Students will also explore how Google business tools can elevate communication strategies, and the importance of effective digital networking and relationship building in business growth with tools like media pitches and backlinks.
