Q: What are the program training dates?
A: March 18 – 22, 2024 (Mon-Fri), from 8:30 am-3:00 pm
Q: Is there an age limit for this program?
A: Yes, at least 16 years of age.
Q: Is there a tuition fee for this program?
A: The tuition fee for this program is $50. There are two ways to pay:
In-person: Pay your fees at your campus Student Services centre during business hours. You can also contact Student Services at 1-800-715-0914.
Pay online: Set up "North Island College" as a payee at your financial institution. Your account number is your seven-digit student ID number, without the 'n' (ex: if your student number is n1234567, your account number is 1234567). Note that it can take up to three business days for these payments to be processed.

Q: What types of employment does this program prepare graduates for?
A: This program aims to inspire and provide the basic foundation for women interested in pursuing a career in the trades, which include electrical, automotive, heavy mechanical, welding, fabrication, and carpentry.
Q: What other industry training does this program cover?
A: The program encompasses the following training:
- Forklift Operator
- Orientation to WHMIS Online

Q: Is this an online program?
A: The program involves in-person learning on the Campbell River campus, in addition to home study. Students will need to dedicate an estimated 30 hours per week to their studies.
Q: What equipment do I need for this program?
A: Students will need access to a computer with an Internet connection in order to access optional online resources for NIC students. Students will also need steel-toe boots and gloves
Q: What is the class schedule?
A: Classes run Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3 pm.
Q: Will I receive a grade for this program?
A: Students will receive a pass or fail for this course.
