Tours are customized to your interests and schedule. Whether your goal is high school completion, valuable technical and trades training or courses toward your university degree, we can show you the way. Sit in on a class, take part in a workshop, tour the campus, meet with an educational advisor, student ambassador, Aboriginal Elder and/or program instructor to answer your questions and help you plan for your future.
Our student recruitment officer travels to high schools across Vancouver Island to meet with students and answer questions about NIC programs, admission requirements and university transfer pathways. Contact your high school counselling office to find out how to make an appointment or visit our High School and Community Visits page (hyperlink) for upcoming dates on our scheduled visits to Vancouver Island high schools. We look forward to meeting you.
Parent/Student Info Night
Every November, we host a fun, informational evening for students and parents. It’s a chance to meet faculty and advisors face to face, learn about courses and programs and connect with instructors about subjects you care about. Learn about our dual and guaranteed admission pathways to UVic, VIU and universities across BC. Advisors will also be available to answer application questions and provide information about scholarships and funding opportunities.
Every February, more than 1,000 high school students from across the North Island explore unique educational opportunities available after high school at our annual High School Open House events in the Comox Valley and Port Alberni.
Orientation Day is often a student’s first introduction to the people, places, and resources on campus that will make their year a success. Students can locate classrooms, meet instructors, visit the library and bookstore, and get started with confidence. Returning students will have the chance to reconnect with classmates and instructors, buy course materials, and find out what’s new at NIC.
