Harley Elias is currently a full time faculty member in the North Island College Tourism and Hospitality and Business Programs.  He carries a Bachelor of Arts (Sum Cum Laude) in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Washington State University and a Masters Degree in Business from the University of Washington.

Raised in Campbell River he returned after completing five years of service with Ernst & Young in their International Hospitality Consulting practice based in Vancouver.  Since then, he has operated and managed three of the areas’ resorts, Painter’s Lodge, April Point Lodge, and Tsa-Kwa-Luten Lodge.

Mr. Elias is also active in the local community and provincially serving on various boards and committees.  He is currently on the board of Go2hr (Supporting BC’s Tourism Labour Market Strategy), and on the Destination British Columbia (DBC) Marketing Advisory Committee, where he is Chair of DBC’s Alignment and Collaboration sub-committee.  Recently he has served on the board of Tourism British Columbia, Link BC (a tourism education network), Rivercorp (the Economic Development Commission for the City of Campbell River), and Tourism Campbell River and Region since its inception.

As a Certified Tidal Angling Guide he has also been actively involved in the region's recreational fishing sector and has been a member of the Campbell River Sports Fishing Advisory Council for over 20 years serving on the South Coast and British Columbia Main Sports Fishing Advisory Board for many of those years.

Married with two adult children Harley is an avid cyclist and angler operating his own salt water sports fishing business, Protected Water Charters, during his ‘spare’ time.
