I am historian of settler status working in the contexts of academic and applied history. At North Island College, I am honoured to teach on subjects related to BC History, Canadian History, the history of criminal behaviour and deviance, and world history.
In addition to my work at North Island College, I am a Historical Research Specialist working on various Indigenous research projects (both historical and contemporary). The majority of my work is related to the history of Indian Reserves in British Columbia. To date, I have had the privilege to work with more than fifty First Nations and Bands in the province of British Columbia completing one hundred plus Historical Research Projects. Since 2016, I have acted as a Specific Claims Expert Witness researching and writing several Expert Reports.
Additionally, I have broad experience working on issues related to the history of Indian Residential Schools in Canada including work on the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In part, my work on the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement involved researching and writing the histories of several Indian Residential Schools in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Having moved to the Comox Valley in 2015, I am thankful and honoured to live in the traditional, unceded territory of the K'ómoks First Nation.
