Free security guard training in Campbell River

Get the skills you need to start a career in the security field, with NIC’s Enhanced Security Guard training in Campbell River this spring.

“The security industry on Vancouver Island continues to grow and security companies need qualified employees,” said Ian Pitcairn, security training instructor and recruiter for Footprints Security.

Along with security courses, students study traffic control, transportation of dangerous goods, workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS) and occupational first aid.

“There’s a range of opportunities out there,” noted Pitcairn. “Whether you’re interested in working on site security, loss prevention or looking to take the first step in a law enforcement career, this gives you the tools and qualifications you need to join this exciting field.”

The free training is open to qualified applicants through Government of Canada funding, delivered in partnership with the Province of BC through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement.

The program runs June 7 to 29, 2018. The registration deadline is May 31.
