Prep Cook Certificate

Develop essential workplace skills, safety knowledge and job readiness to launch a career in the food services industry. You will learn how to prepare soups, sauces, baked goods, and more in modern teaching kitchens while also gaining valuable work experience in local restaurants. You will be qualified for employment as a prep cook, porter or food service worker in a commercial kitchen, restaurant or resort.

This program will be delivered in Parksville during Winter 2023, but students should select 'Comox Valley' when applying.

This program is a great first step for anyone interested in working in the food service industry. Students learn important kitchen skills and how to prepare a wide range of staple dishes, with lots of hands-on practice in our teaching kitchen.
