NIC Planning Resources

High School Dual Credit
These early entry opportunities allow high school students to complete university-level courses and provincially approved trades training while still in high school. Receive credit toward your Grade 12 graduation requirements as well as NIC credit toward a degree, diploma or trades credential. Learn more about Dual Credit and Youth Train in Trades opportunities.

Financial Aid & Awards
Post-secondary education is a big investment. Once you’ve applied to NIC, our Financial Aid Advisors are here to help you apply for student loans, create a budget and find other funding sources. As an NIC student, you can also apply for over 500K in awards and bursaries with only one application through the North Island College Foundation.

Military / Canadian Forces
NIC’s partnership with the Department of National Defence provides Canadian Forces members and their dependents access to support and services to achieve post-secondary success. Our advisor will review your military training to assess your eligibility for credit toward NIC certificate/diploma or associate degree requirements. Learn more about opportunities for Canadian Forces Members or contact NIC’s educational/military advisor. military@nic.bc.ca

Study Abroad
Whether you're a university studies, business, tourism, nursing or human services student, you can travel the world and expand your education with NIC. Your field of study and learning goals will help you decide how to make Study Abroad part of your educational journey.

Work-Integrated Learning
Work while you learn. Some business and tourism programs include co-op or internships as part of the curriculum, allowing you to gain experience and course credits at the same time.
