NIC students travel to Greece as part of 2018 Crete Field School

Students learn about the ancient Minoan village of Gournia from NIC instructor Jim Anderson.

A group of 14 NIC students are gaining academic credit while studying abroad in Greece with NIC instructors Jim Anderson and Sara Vipond as part of Crete Field School 2018.

NIC's Crete Field School is an amazing 28-day trip where students study artifacts and learn about ancient Minoan culture while visiting archaeological sites including palaces, villages, cemeteries and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. The first leg of the trip was in the city of  Chania, then 10 days in the town of beautiful Archanes and now on the last week of their adventure in Ierapetra.  The students do course work and lectures in the morning and then set out for afternoon field trips to gain practical hands-on knowledge.
