There will be in-person and virtual orientation events open to all new and returning students. Campbell River’s in-person orientation will be hosted on Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1685 South Dogwood St. Live virtual sessions will run from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m on Aug. 29, 30 and 31, as well as Sept. 12.

“Orientation is an opportunity for students to learn about their school and to meet the people that will support them in their learning journeys at North Island College,” said Mez Jiwaji, Associate Director, Student Life. “The Student Life team is looking forward to bringing together new and current students, faculty, staff, and community partners at events focused on building relationships that support mental health and well-being, and encourage help-seeking behaviours, which are important for student success both in and outside the classrooms.”

The in-person event welcomes students to campus and connects them to their college and community partners. There will be welcome booths, a marketplace of student supports, and a hot lunch. Students attending the virtual sessions can learn how to navigate NIC’s digital learning platforms, discover what supports are available to them to help them achieve success, and meet their Student Life and North Island Students’ Union teams.

Classes for the fall will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Students can find more information about the in-person event or online sessions at www.nic.bc.ca/orientation. Anyone with questions should email Orientation@nic.bc.ca.
