The NIC Artist Talk events offer an engaging line-up of speakers that foster students and professional artists in the community.
The June 20 event is free and begins at 7 pm at the Stan Hagen Theatre.
Grenon — who is also taking part in the Comox Valley Art Gallery's Creative Residency Program — has had her work presented in public and private galleries nationally and internationally.
The respected artist is also working at NIC's Shadbolt Studios to develop site-specific work for CVAG titled Water Effect, with assistance from gallery student interns Spencer Sheenan-Kalina and James Kormansek.
On June 27 from 5 to 7 pm, Grenon will lead Water Effect 2019, a CVAG community make art project that will allow participants to craft hand-moulded, personalized porcelain boats.
The work produced from that session will become part of Hold Being Held, an exhibition featuring clay and time-based work of seven artists. An event to launch that exhibition is also being held on June 27 from 5-9 pm and will include community make art projects, talks from the artists and a public reception.
