What is the StrongerBC future skills grant program?
The StrongerBC future skills grant is available to most British Columbians aged 19 years or older – regardless of financial need – and covers a lifetime maximum of up to $3,500 in costs for eligible short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions. You can use the funding to upskill, transition or further your career.
How to apply
The future skills grant is available to qualifying residents of BC, regardless of financial circumstances.
For 2025-26 academic year, we're offering a range of programs that offer job-related skills for in-demand careers. Find a program that aligns with your career goals.
Once you've found a program you're interested in, apply for the program through EducationPlannerBC.
Once you've applied for a program, you can apply for the grant through the online portal with your BC Services Card Account.
What does the future skills grant pay for?
The StrongerBC future skills grant will cover tuition, mandatory fees and program/course materials. Costs such as childcare, transportation costs or living allowances while you attend training aren’t covered by the grant.
