No previous experience is necessary.

Overview
The Green Building Foundations and Manufacturing is a five-week program designed to equip students with the skills, industry safety certifications and knowledge needed to work in construction and manufacturing. This program focuses on reducing waste, saving natural resources and creating employment opportunities in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
In addition to covering sustainable work practices, you'll gain a solid overview of a variety of hard skills and essential industry knowledge, including:
- The safe use of hand and power tools
- Worksite safety and recognizing hazards
- The ability to make various imperial and metric measurements and calculations
- Compiling materials and supplies lists
Requirements and courses
This course includes an orientation to carpentry and construction, an introduction to worksite safety, applied trades calculations and measurements, an overview of project planning and an introduction to power and hand tools.
