Across British Columbia, tradespeople are building, repairing, installing and creating the infrastructure and services our communities rely on every day. Whether it’s housing, healthcare or transportation, skilled trades are central to the province’s economic future.

For many in the trades, Red Seal certification is the goal. This nationally recognized credential sets a high standard for skill and knowledge. It opens doors to work across Canada and helps employers find the certified professionals they need.
At North Island College, we have long helped students on their journey towards Red Seal certification. The college’s Red Seal pathway programs combine hands-on training with in-class technical education, all while led by experienced instructors who understand the needs of industry.

NIC offers Red Seal training in key trades including electrician, professional cook and welder. With multiple entry points, from foundation programs to apprenticeship levels, students can build their skills and careers close to home.

As NIC marks 50 years, we’re proud of the role we’ve played in preparing generations of skilled workers who are ready to meet B.C.’s needs now and into the future.
