Overview

You'll learn:
  • To build critical applied and theoretical skills across traditional, interdisciplinary and digital arts
  • The fundamentals of materials, theory and exhibition in contemporary visual culture
  • To develop creative and critical thinking along with hands-on techniques for artistic expression
  • Art history to explore the evolution of visual culture and challenge creative perspectives

Complete the diploma or use it as a stepping stone to a Bachelor’s degree through partnerships with Emily Carr, VIU, UVic and other institutions.

Careers

Our graduates can expect to find careers as painters, sculptors and other visual artists. Some may even want to pursue work as art instructors, curators, gallery managers or in creative industries such as design, media production and cultural programming.
