Careers
The BC Labour Market Outlook (2023) highlights a strong demand for skilled professionals across various fields, with approximately 998,000 job openings projected between 2023 and 2033. Of these, many roles will focus on business, management, and related occupations, including human resources. The report emphasizes that small and medium-sized businesses and not-for-profits often require HR expertise to address challenges like recruitment, retention, and compliance with employment standards. This makes HR training especially relevant for individuals seeking roles in these growing sectors.
Further supporting the case for a career in HR, the Canadian labour market is adapting to shifting demographics and an aging workforce, with 65% of future job openings driven by retirements. Additionally, smaller organizations are increasingly recognizing the value of HR professionals who can streamline operations and foster a positive workplace culture.
